Frequently Asked Questions

How do I rent a keg?

We sell 19L and 50L kegs to the public. A 19L keg holds the equivalent of 53 bottles of beer and a 50L keg is 140 bottles of beer. The 19L keg is $111.15 + tax and the 50L is $246.87 + tax. There is a $100 deposit on the hand pump and on the keg, which you get back when they are returned. When you pick it up the keg will be cold, but it is important you keep it cold, otherwise it will pour foamy. There is no need to reserve a keg. We keep them in stock, so just swing by our taproom to pick one up!

Can you fill my own keg?

Depending on the type of keg you have, we will do our best to fill it. If you bring it by the taproom we will be able to confirm whether we can fill it. We will hold on to your keg until out next kegging day and call you when it is filled. Payment will be collected when you drop off the personal keg.

Can I return my Little Brown Jugs (750 ml)?

You sure can. There is a $2 refundable deposit on every Little Brown Jug (750 ml bottle). We will gladly take back your bottles for a cash refund or swap them out and pay only for the beer. Growlers (1.89 L) are non-refundable, however we can refill them.

Do you refill growlers?

We sure do. Bring your clean glass growler and we will gladly fill it. If you have a stainless steel specialty growler, we will do our best to fill it from the tap. New growlers can be purchased for $4 + tax.

What does the date sticker on my Growler/Little Brown Jug mean?

This sticker indicates a packaging date. We recommend drinking it within 3 weeks from the packaging date. Keep your bottles refrigerated. Once opened, you will want to finish the same day. Bottle fills are best consumed fresh!

Can I book a private event in the taproom?

We do not book private events when we would otherwise be open. However, we can host semi-private events in our space, while remaining open to our guests. We have hosted birthday celebrations, wedding receptions, concerts, and other events in our space. We like to think of our space as shared space for the community.

Can I make a reservation?

We do not take reservations. If you have a large group coming in, we would love to try and accommodate. Please email beer@littlebrownjug.ca to let us know you are coming!

Do you serve food?

We serve a few small snacks including pretzels, chips and salsa and cheese curds. You are also more than welcome to bring in outside food or order in. We are lucky to be in a neighbourhood with so many great restaurants, so pick something up on your way in!

What beer do you have on tap?

At Little Brown Jug, we serve pints of our 1919 Belgian Pale ale. 1919 is well balanced with low bitterness, malty sweetness, and an herbal spicy aroma. The malt flavor will be reminiscent of freshly baked bread, with aromas of clove and fruitiness. ABV 5%, IBU 20.

Occasionally we have seasonal beers or 1919 infusions. Watch our social media to find out if we are pouring a specialty beer.

Do you donate to wedding socials?

We do not donate to wedding socials.

Will you sponsor our event?

For sponsorship inquiries please email beer@littlebrownjug.ca with details of the event including how much beer would be required and what advertising/contra could be offered in return.

Do you have tours?

We have an open concept taproom which looks right into our production space. Our taproom staff would be happy to answer any questions you may have about how we brew our 1919 Belgian Pale Ale. We occasionally host public tours. Keep an eye on our social media to find out when those occur!
